What is the Triple Line?

The 'single bottom line' is the profitability of a business. The 'triple bottom line' is a process and way of thinking. The process does not produce a number nor does it produce a certificate. It is about understanding the interrelationship between an economy and the human and natural environment.

We work to promote an inclusive development approach in less developed and transition countries. We apply triple bottom line analysis in our work with the public and the private sector. We believe that the environmental and social aspects of a business or organisation should not be viewed as a constraint to keep regulators and lobbyists happy but should be used to produce sustainable outcomes or turn a company into a source of competitive advantage. By applying principles of stakeholder participation to issues of social and environmental impact and implementing the appropriate prevention and mitigation measures, the wider public interest can be reconciled with the more direct interests of business.

Triple Line principles apply both to how we work and what we do.

Mission Statement:

Our work consists of specifically tailored assignments and we carefully match an individual or team's expertise to the requirements of the brief. We aim to understand how our clients' organisations work and develop relevant solutions for them; learning and applying our understanding of the differences and similarities across the private, government and voluntary sectors. We subject potential projects to a peer review process to ensure that that we do not undertake projects which we consider would have a limited or adverse impact. A Triple Line team member has a quality assurance role for all projects.
